Article Processing Charges & Waivers

The Journal of Privacy-Preserving AI in Medicine is fully open access. All published articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, and reuse under CC BY 4.0.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

CHF 1,900 per accepted article (inclusive of VAT where applicable). The APC covers peer review coordination, professional copyediting, XML and PDF production, DOI registration via Crossref, indexing submissions, and permanent archiving.

There are no submission fees, revision fees, colour figure fees, or page charges. The APC is only invoiced upon acceptance — you pay nothing if your paper is not accepted.

Waiver Policy

We are committed to global research equity. Authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) are eligible for a full APC waiver. Authors from middle-income countries facing genuine financial hardship may apply for a partial waiver.

Waiver requests are assessed independently of editorial decisions and have no influence on the peer review process. To apply, contact contact@vallensis.org at the time of submission. Invoices are issued upon acceptance; payment is accepted by credit card or bank transfer in CHF, EUR, or USD.

Article processing charges for contributions outside the founding phase will be published transparently before they apply.
